Sammii Bennett
Occupational Therapist and Driving Assessor
Sammii has been an Occupational Therapist for 11 years, working in various roles.
In the last four years, Sammii has worked in the NDIS space and developed a passion for working with participants with psychosocial disabilities.
Sammii uses a trauma-informed approach and understands safety within the therapeutic relationship is extremely important.
Sammii has experience helping participants with emotional regulation strategies, including the use of sensory modulation. Sammii also can help with learning new life skills or how to manage symptoms, to better engage in functional day-to-day tasks. Sammii enjoys teaching mindfulness techniques to empower her participants to manage their symptoms beyond the OT session.
Outside of work, Sammii is a board game enthusiast and loves playing music. Currently, Sammii has decided to learn the Saxophone (if you would like a rendition of Twinkle Twinkle Little Star, please feel free to ask. You will be pushing your luck for anything more than that right now). Sammii also likes meditation, practising qi gong and using nature to help keep her grounded.
Sammii does not take herself too seriously and has an open mind about life; she loves a good laugh and will chat about anything, except the footy (sorry to those AFL fans).
